Welcome to Vientiane, the charming capital of Laos. Upon arrival at the airport, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel by private vehicle.
After check-in (after 14:00), the remainder of the day is free for you to relax or discover the city's cultural treasures and laid-back atmosphere at your own pace.
Overnight in Vientiane.
After breakfast, begin your city tour with a visit to Wat Sisaket, the oldest surviving temple in Vientiane, renowned for its thousands of Buddha images. Continue to Haw Phra Kaew, the former royal temple that once housed the Emerald Buddha and now serves as a museum showcasing an impressive collection of religious art.
Next, visit the magnificent Pha That Luang, Laos' most important national monument and a symbol of both Buddhism and Lao sovereignty. Standing 40 meters high and covered in gold, the stupa dominates the city's skyline. Continue to the COPE Visitor Centre to learn about its important humanitarian work in Laos.
In the afternoon, discover the unique Buddha Park, home to more than 200 striking Buddhist and Hindu sculptures, including a giant three-level pumpkin symbolizing Hell, Earth, and Heaven. Wander among the fascinating statues and enjoy views across the park.
Overnight in Vientiane
After breakfast, depart for Vang Vieng, a picturesque riverside town in central Laos renowned for its dramatic limestone karst landscapes and outdoor activities.
Upon arrival, visit Tham Xang (Elephant Cave), named after its distinctive elephant-shaped limestone formation and located on the banks of the Nam Song River. Continue to Tham Hoi (Snail Cave), which extends deep into the mountain, before exploring Tham Nam (Water Cave), where you may enjoy a refreshing swim.
Later, enjoy a scenic boat cruise along the Nam Song River, taking in the spectacular karst scenery and peaceful Lao countryside. After the cruise, transfer to your hotel by private vehicle.
Overnight in Vang Vieng.
After breakfast, visit Tham Chang Cave, one of Vang Vieng's most famous natural attractions. Perched on a hillside overlooking the Nam Song River, the cave offers impressive limestone formations and panoramic views of the surrounding villages and rice fields.
Then, transfer to the train station for a one-hour high-speed train journey to Luang Prabang.

An early start offers a wonderful opportunity to witness and participate in the daily alms-giving ceremony to saffron-robed monks. This centuries-old tradition is one of Laos' most cherished cultural and spiritual practices. Then, watch the town come to life as you visit a bustling morning market filled with local produce and traditional Lao ingredients. Experience the vibrant atmosphere before returning to your hotel.
This morning, visit the former Royal Palace, now the National Museum, showcasing a remarkable collection of royal artifacts and a blend of French Beaux-Arts and traditional Lao architecture.
Next, visit Wat Mai, located adjacent to the Royal Palace. Renowned for its exquisite golden bas-relief, the temple plays an important role during Pimai (Lao New Year), when the sacred Prabang Buddha image—normally housed in the Royal Palace Museum—is brought here for public display and veneration.
Continue to Mount Phousi for panoramic views over Luang Prabang, the Mekong and Nam Khan Rivers, and the surrounding mountains.
Then explore some of the city's most celebrated temples, including Wat Xieng Thong, a masterpiece of traditional Lao architecture.
In the afternoon, travel to the spectacular Khuangsy Waterfalls, where turquoise waters cascade into a series of limestone pools amid lush jungle scenery. Along the way, there is an opportunity to visit a local hill tribe village.
Enjoy a walk through the surrounding natural park and visit the Asian Bear Rescue Centre, home to rescued Asiatic black bears living in a protected forest environment.
Optional tour: Traditional Baci ceremony
In the evening, experience a traditional Lao Baci (Soukhouan) ceremony in a local home. This meaningful ritual is an important part of Lao culture and is held to celebrate special occasions and bring good fortune. During the ceremony, blessings are offered and white cotton strings are tied around participants' wrists, symbolizing happiness, prosperit5y, protection, and well-being.
Overnight in Luang Prabang.
This morning, board a traditional long-tail boat for a gentle cruise along the Mekong River, passing sleepy riverside villages, wooden boats, and fishing nets set along the shore.
Continue to the Pak Ou Caves, where you will explore two sacred cave levels. The lower cave features a striking group of Buddha statues set against the river backdrop, while the upper cave requires a short climb and reveals hundreds of Buddha images of various sizes, reflecting deep Buddhist devotion.
On the return journey, visit the traditional handicraft villages of Ban Xang Khong and Ban Xieng Lek, known for silk weaving and Saa paper production. Observe local artisans at work and learn about these time-honored crafts.

Optional tour: Communicating with elephants (join-in tour)
Known as the “Land of a Million Elephants” (Lane Xang), Laos once had a large wild elephant population, which has now declined significantly. Today, a visit to the outskirts of Luang Prabang offers a meaningful opportunity to learn about elephant conservation in a natural jungle setting.
14:00-14:30: Pick up at our hotel and transfer to the elephant camp. Upon arrival, meet the camp staff and receive an introduction to elephant behavior and communication. Prepare food for the elephants before crossing the Nam Khan River to meet them and their mahouts.
Feed the elephants and enjoy a short walk alongside them before returning to the camp for a relaxing break with light refreshments by the riverside.
Return to Luang Prabang, arriving at your hotel at approximately 17:30.
